A community 10 years in the making

Since its inception in 2009 by clarinettist Samantha Christopher and pianist Dylan Christopher, Da Capo Academy has flourished into a successful independent music tuition service in Colchester. The brainchild of Samantha while completing her final year as an undergraduate music student at Colchester Institute, the studio has gone from strength to strength to get to where it is today.

Samantha has made my experience with playing the clarinet enjoyable and challenging and I look forward to the next few years playing with her, as well as other students.

Humble Beginnings

Samantha and Dylan joined forces professionally after graduating, each bringing a wealth of musical talent and knowledge to the academy. What initially started as a few learners taught from Samantha’s parents’ house, has grown into a flourishing teaching practice taught from Samantha and Dylan’s residence in Colchester.

Excellence has always been Da Capo Academy’s highest priority, aiming to provide the highest quality music education to anyone wanting to learn. Over the years tried and tested methods have been perfected to guide learners through the journey to becoming competent and able musicians.

I can honestly say that my weekly piano lesson with Dylan is a real highlight of my week.
